Tawnya found herself having a love of animals ever since she could remember and developed an interest in medicine throughout high school. She started working at a Veterinary Clinic in high school and because human medicine is gross, decided that being a Registered Veterinary Technician was the career for her!
Tawnya graduated from The University of Guelph, Ridgetown Campus, with honors, in 2008 and after 6 years of regular practice decided that the fast-paced emergency clinic life was where she needed to be and has been working at emergency clinics ever since!
Even with her 16+ years’ experience, Tawnya is very eager to learn new techniques and procedures and enjoys travelling to Veterinary conferences to broaden her knowledge with a particular interest in neonatal care and emergency stabilization.
In her spare time, Tawnya runs her own house painting business and assists in running two busy hair salons. What little time is left, she can be found spending it at home with her EIGHT cats, camping, hiking, or travelling all over the states with her spouse, Dave, attending UKC dog shows with her 2 dogs Eleanor the Cane Corso and Edmund the Presa Canario.
